It's Going to Be Ok

Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

One of the most encouraging and most quoted verses in the Bible. But what makes this verse so special to so many? Do we realize the context in which these words are spoken from God? God’s people, the Israelites are in the darkest moment in all their lives. Jerusalem has been attacked, and all their people scattered in exile to foreign lands. Their families torn apart. Their homes burnt to the ground. Their jobs lost. Their plans and hopes for the future, torn away from them. They are in great distress, depression, fear and anger.

And in the midst of all this craziness and chaos, God tells Jeremiah to send His people a letter. This letter tells His people, “it’s going to be ok. I still love you. I will never abandon you. Your future is great!”

God brings peace, comfort and hope in the midst of when life gets at its most difficult. So today, if you feel depressed, angry, hopeless, lost, unloved, forgotten, lonely or like a failure... remember... God is saying to you TODAY... “it’s going to be ok. I still love you. I will never abandon you. Your future is great!”

Even though things seem difficult now, God has a plan, and when we follow Him and seek Him with all our hearts, He will bring joy to the sad, peace to the angry, hope to the hopeless, purpose to the lost, love to the unloved, an identity to the forgotten, a friend to the lonely, victory to the failures!!!! That’s my God!!!!
