Power Of Words
Social media can be a wonderful resource to keep up with people, connect, and post about your life. However, social media can be a source of mean words, dragging people down, and bringing out the worse of us. Kindness can honestly be a hard thing to have all the time. It can be easier to drag down someone down than to life them up. However, in the Bible it says in Colossians 3:12, “Since God chose you to be the holy people He loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.” The Bible doesn’t say, “oh choose when you’re kind, gentle, or have patience and etc.” It says you must choose it.
That can defiantly be harder said than done. I know for myself, it can be really hard to be kind when you’re frustrated, upset, or angry. It affects the way you interact with people. You can help choose kindness in your attitude, your words and your actions. Start by checking your attitude, take a deep breath and pray for kindness, patience, mercy and more. If your attitude isn’t right, it will lead to hurtful words and actions. Random Acts of Kindness is something that is great to implement into your life, but it shouldn’t be check once and you’re done for the day. It should come so natural as if it was a piece of clothing. I challenge you this month to rely on God to help with your kindness, ask for kindness into your heart and help bring people up.
