Overcoming Evil People
Some people in the world are just plain evil. There’s no getting around it, they commit evil acts, they have no remorse, they are evil to the very core. And yet, we’re supposed to LOVE them? We’re supposed to love them when they commit the atrocities of crime, unleash their hate towards those we love, and often times affront us directly with their evil ways? Really? Does God really expect us to love them?
Yes He does. His Word tells us in Romans 12:21, “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” This is not a suggestion from God, but a command from the Father. Blessing those who persecute us, not repaying evil for evil, having good regard for those who are evil, is not an easy task to accomplish!
You will never be able to eliminate the evil people in your life. But you can love on them as Christ loved on those who persecuted Him. While on the cross, the evil crimes of hate being carried out directly upon Him, He forgave them as it was happening. As they were killing Him, He forgave them.
An undertaking at this level is not easily done, by any means. But the more in love you are with God, the more of His love you can express to those who are evil. Falling more in love with God is the absolute key.
Fall more in love with God. And as you do… you’ll fall more in love with those who are evil.
You watch… You wait… You’ll see!
