Stay In Your Own Lane
The phrase “Stay in Your Own Lane” comes from a variety of illustrations; a sprinter on the track, a swimmer racing in the pool, cars motoring down the road, and my favorite, bowling. Throwing your ball down the lane next to you is forbidden. You must throw down your own lane in order for the score to count.
If you happen to roll your bowling ball down a lane that is not yours, and you get a strike, knocking down every pin, it doesn’t count, and you will be disqualified from the game!
In the game of life, in order to make the greatest impact possible, stay in your own lane. Do and be who God has made you to be, not trying to be like anyone else. Playing in the lane of someone else will lead to confusion, division, strife and eventual disqualification.
Stay in the lane of life God has given to you. Just be you. Good, bad or ugly, be the person God created.
And as you are,
You watch… You wait… You’ll see!
